A NEW NAME, A NEW LOOK AND CHANGES TO OUR SALES

08/05/2023     General News

There have been a few developments recently at Elstob Auctioneers as we start a new chapter for the business.

Our name has changed from Elstob & Elstob to Elstob Auctioneers, which has been accompanied by a smart new logo and fresh branding. This follows a change in direction for the company that positions David Elstob as the sole director.

Since its establishment in 2019, the auction house has seen huge growth, which prompted the move from Bedale to Ripon after just one year of trading. Since then, the staff team has trebled with the appointment of a growing number of top level specialists who have worked with some of the biggest and most prestigious names in the industry.

The auction house is also restructuring its auction calendar. Until now, there has been a programme of general antiques sales interspersed with specialist sales but moving forward we will be hosting four-weekly Fine Art and Antique Sales.

“We like to have a close dialogue with our customers and always listen carefully to any feedback they might have,” said David Elstob. “A common theme from buyers was that they would prefer to have sales containing a mixture of items, which makes browsing though the catalogues more engaging with a greater opportunity of spotting pieces of interest.

“Moving our sales to the end of the week and including a Saturday will also enable more people to take part and the regularity of a monthly auction will mean clients can anticipate the timing of the sales,” he added.

The new structure will be more efficient to administer with an even faster turn around for processing payment and the shipment of items.

The first sale will take place over three days from Thursday 18 to Saturday 20 May, starting each day at 9.30am. The sale will showcase some of the best silver, jewellery, clocks, watches, ceramics, fine art and furniture in the region, including a large collection of antique Coronation memorabilia and two iconic classic cars.
