Our Jewellery, Watches and Silver Sale on Friday, 16 December, showcases some wonderful watches, including a rare steel Bulova Snorkel ‘J’ Divers’ Watch.

Known as the 'Devil Diver', this is a highly collectable timepiece known for its durability and unique design. Fully waterproof, the watch features a snorkel-style design that allows it to withstand depths of up to 666 feet – a truly ground-breaking achievement at the time.

The Bulova snorkel ‘J’ was made for just one year in 1967 and in very small numbers, making it hard to obtain in today's market. The watch features a rotating bezel, luminous hands and markers, and a unidirectional bezel for tracking elapsed dive time. These features make it easy to read and use even in the most challenging underwater environments.

In addition to its practicality, the Bulova snorkel ‘J’ is also known for its aesthetic appeal, making it a favourite among collectors. It has a guide price of £1,000 - £1,500.

Also in the sale by Bulova is an elegant 9-carat gold Accutron watch fitted with an attractive integral Milanese mesh bracelet. It has a circular champagne dial with a date aperture and is valued between £600-£800.

Another showstopper is an 18-carat gold Cartier Tank Francaise Chronoflex Chronograph bracelet watch. With a guide price of £8,000 - £12,000, it has a rectangular ivory dial and three sub-dials with black Roman index and hands.
