Henrietta has considerable knowledge of the antiques market built up over a distinguished career of high-level trading, working for some of the biggest names in the business. She spent 15 years as Bonham’s representative and general valuer in the North East and 12 years working for Sotheby’s.
Henrietta now has her fine art and antiques consultancy business and specialises in 18th, 19th and 20th-century paintings.
Henrietta’s broad knowledge of antiques means she can advise Elstob Auctioneers clients on selling single items or take an overview of more extensive collections or house sales. She has been involved with several high-profile sales, including the Nun Monkton House Sale, the Ripley Castle Collection and the Meade Irish Silver Collection.
Her expertise is knowing what, when and how best to sell, making her recommendations invaluable to potential sellers. Henrietta also carries out formal valuations for insurance, probate and family division.
