AN EARLY CHINESE BLUE AND WHITE MINYAO BOWL, XUANDE/ZHENGTONG (1426-1449)
with slightly flared rim and shallow foot ring, on the inside having an underglaze blue flower surrounded by a double circle and Greek key band under the rim, with the outside having a vibrantly painted underglaze blue cloud and orchard decoration and the base and inside of the foot ring being unglazed. 14.5cm diameter
Although this bowl has suffered damage over the centuries, especially to the foot ring, it is an excellent, rare and early Minyao study piece.
